Identifying the Caravan

CRIS- Caravan Registration and Identification Scheme

The VIN is clearly shown on up to a maximum of 10 caravan windows. The same 17 characters will be die stamped into the A frame, on the right hand or offside of the caravan.

If the caravan is from UK manufacturers the first two characters reflect the country of origin.
The third character identifies the manufacturer.
The fourth character will usually be either S or T indicating that the caravan is a single or twin axle model.
The eighth and ninth characters will give the National Caravan Council Identification code.
The tenth characters denotes the model year in accordance with the following VIN code:
